Chapter 16

There were markets, and then there were places where the concept had broken down entirely, becoming a kind of neural map of desperation and greed. Nexus Station’s blue-six sector was the latter—a bazaar so dense that navigation was not a matter of direction but a matter of species memory, a gut sense of which alleys would close behind you and which would spit you back, chewed but unbroken, into the riot of commerce.
